And like most authors, I'd like to know what happens on the other side. Sometimes it's loads of marketing, sometimes it's great reviews, sometimes it's just honest-to goodness luck.Jeff Benningtonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01846791553554124991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-285913204707798277.post-3658796820264288792012-04-20T03:06:26.559-07:002012-04-20T03:06:26.559-07:00Thanks Jeff, you are so nice! Thanks for featuring the cover of LAST ONE ...Jeff:

Thanks for featuring the cover of LAST ONE CHOSEN in your blog. I have really become a believer in the importance of good cover art, especially for people trying to sell their books online. I think there is a big difference between a cover that works for a print book and one that works for an ebook. If the cover doesn't stand out, readers will never click it to find out more about the book. So all the time and effort the author spends writing the book are lost if the cover isn't a grabber.

Regards, Stephen WoodfinStephen Woodfinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18380589199614508699noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-285913204707798277.post-12380721990629446672012-04-19T03:51:58.967-07:002012-04-19T03:51:58.967-07:00Hi Dionne ~ Thanks for the comment. The artist that did it has done such a good job, I think the cover is better than the book lol (you didn't hear me say that). It's a fantasy/adventure book, and there's dragons in it, so there is a dragon on the cover and we've done a scene from the end of the book. It's eye-catching and original. To me, there's nothing worse than seeing a generic cover picked off the internet, especially for fantasy - you can always tell. I've spent years getting the book right and I wasn't going to let it down with a crap cover.Dionnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12382202206773864796noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-285913204707798277.post-20702966899415801232012-04-18T10:16:42.710-07:002012-04-18T10:16:42.710-07:00Hi Anthony, I think ebook Author's have an eve...Hi Anthony, I think ebook Author's have an even greater challenge... And that's making a cover pop as a 3/4" x 1" thumbnail. With such small images, indies need to look at their covers that appear on online retail site a bit differently.
